Resources for the Faith Community
Hi there. This area of our website is aimed at highlighting particular aspects of our work, beyond clinical counselling (which is also available), that could be of service to Followers of Jesus and the Christian Church in Christchurch.
Addiction to pornography is a growing issue in wider society and within our churches.
For the user who finds themselves ensnared and those who love them, the solution to the trap can appear quite simple (just stop) but the lived experience is often complex, confusing, shameful and hopeless.
This is a biggie, that really needs our attention.
In my clinical work I (Campbell) seek to make a safe, compassionate, understanding, non-judgemental, professional and Christian response to this common, yet often misunderstood and rarely discussed, issue facing many, many men and women today.
If you are struggling with pornograghy I warmly welcome you to make contact with me.
It isn't hopeless and help in coming to terms with and stopping using pornography is available.
Marriage / Relationship Counselling
I work with couples from a wide range of range of backgrounds and belief systems, both Christian and other. My passion is to encourage people; that in spite of what seems to be incompatibility and grounds for giving up on their marriages/relationships, there is hope to be found in becoming a vessel of healing for each other. I use Imago Relationship Therapy as the main tool in my work with couples. Love, trust, forgiveness, safety and rebuilding the foundation of good communication are key elements of this approach.
If you would like to discuss couples counselling with me please don't hesitate to make contact.
Pastoral / Leadership Supervision
In working with Pastors and Leaders I (Campbell) seek to combine my background in professional ministry (NZ Baptist Union & Associated Churches of Christ), Spiritual Direction and Clinical Counselling, in order to support you in your loving of God, loving of your people and your loving of yourself.
This is at times a subtle and deep work.
Of special interest is the inter-connection between the professionals 'ministry work' and their 'personal faith'.
Build character and last the long run.
If you feel I could help you or one of the leaders on your team please call or send me an email.
Pastoral Supervision is charged at a flat rate of $80.00 per hour and is normally engaged monthly.
However a higher frequency of meeting can be negotiated.
