CAMPBELL & RUTH LANGFORD
We know that for counselling to bring about effective change it must be warm, compassionate and insightfully attuned to the specific, unique needs of each individual client. There is no one quite like you, with the same story to tell.
So whether you're here in search of support for yourself, a family member or a friend, we invite you to read on, get a feel for who we are and when you are ready give us a call.
By the way we think it takes a lot of courage to admit when we've come to the end of our capacity to solve our issues. Most of us like to sort stuff in our heads, keeping our pride and self-sufficiency intact. But we believe that good counselling provides a safe, neutral space in which to make progress when the DIY approach has run its course. Essentially it's about giving yourself permission to share the confusion, frustration, sadness, hopelessness and distress. In looking at things together it is possible to make sense of the hard stuff, grieve the losses, heal the hurts and find a way forward with strength and hope for your future.
Best wishes Cam & Ruth
Simply, I want to see people become all that they can be, including having awesome relationships and living a full life.
Sometimes it is hard to look at who you have been, the things that have been done to you by others... and the ways you might be able to recover, grow and change.
Sometimes that journey is better taken with another, supportive, caring, non-judgmental individual. If I can be that person for you then I’m keen to get started.
My clients talk with me about many things, including:
I am passionate about providing caring and non-judgemental support for real people about the real issues of life. For people who feel challenged or stuck, who feel sad or numb but who cling to the hope that things can change for the better. For those of us who have suffered but don't want to be defined by it. We are all a mix of broken and whole.
I work with Couples & Individuals.
I work from a person-centred understanding of people, utilising and drawing on other tools from modalities such as Interactive Drawing Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
As part of my commitment to best practice I regularly attend supervision and workshops/seminars that increase and develop further my professional knowledge and skills.
